Luther and Ora sent their relatives a basket of fruit each Christmas, which was a real treat during those times.

Ora's nieces remember her as attractive, polished, and kind. Luther was also kind and spoke Spanish like a native. The family recalls visiting Luther and Ora one summer in the early 1950s when Luther took them to a restaurant in Mexico for an exotic meal of quail and frog legs.

Luther and Ora had no children. Luther died Feb 1973 in Hidalgo Co., TX. Ora died later on 13 Apr 1975 in Hidalgo Co., TX. They are buried in Roselawn Cemetery, Hidalgo Co., TX
